Representatives from Network Rail and Bam Nutall came along to the Community Council meeting on Monday 24th February 2014 to update us on the bridge closure and works on Main Street in Larbert.
The first edition of a newsletter (click here to view) for local residents has been issued to line-side neighbours this week. The newsletter will be issued every 6-8 weeks.
We were advised on Monday night that major issues have been discovered with one of the existing bridge abutments (i.e. the substructure that the bridge sits on). As a result of its poor condition it has to be replaced. This means that the works are unlikely to be completed with the road remaining closed until December 2014 (originally scheduled for mid-September). A revised works programme is being put in place and we are in close contact with Network Rail to keep up-to-date with the timetable and communication of this.
