Police Scotland has advised us that between 920pm and 1030pm on 12.07.15, keys for a motor vehicle were stolen via the letterbox at a house in King Street, Stenhousemuir. The keys were then used to steal the occupiers Audi motor car.
Police Scotland has advised they will put more nightshift patrols into the Larbert and Stenhousemuir area where they can, and have been arranging road checks through the night to see who is out and about late at night for some time now.
The Police are keen to remind people not to leave car keys visible to thieves, and to make sure that they are hidden from view as far as possible. For example, don’t leave keys on hall tables where they can effectively be ‘fished’ out by someone with the appropriate skill, patience and equipment. Also, people should ideally try and make sure their windows and doors are locked before going to bed.
The Police would also be keen to hear from anyone who may have seen people or vehicles acting suspiciously, or who saw the vehicle in question. The car concerned was a silver Audi Q7, jeep style vehicle. If you have any information, please call 101.
