What happens after Brexit?

We are going to be travelling to rural communities to hear their thoughts about what happens after we Brexit – what are the concerns and problems? What can be done to ensure our communities aren’t unfairly impacted?

You can read more about the project on our website, but we are looking for communities that can offer an opportunity for us to come and talk about these issues.  We will take the issues raised and potential solutions to both the UK and Scottish governments.

As bank branch closures become a bigger problem across rural Scotland, we thought we should share this useful information from our friends at the Post Office. There is lots of useful information for personal banking and small businesses alike. Find out more by clicking here.

A very big thank you…

The current Community Council stands down after our 4-year term at midnight on 12th December 2017. We would like to thank all the local community for its support over the last 4-years. Your support and contributions have been very much appreciated by the Community Council and have helped us represent the views of the community on a wide range of matters.

As previously notified, we were disappointed that there were insufficient nominations received by Falkirk Council to form a new Community Council. The good news is that the deadline for nominations has been extended to 18th December. We would continue to encourage anyone interested in getting involved to download a nomination form and submit it to Falkirk Council in advance of the deadline. The forms can be downloaded at: http://www.falkirk.gov.uk/services/people-communities/community-councils/election/

We have achieved a lot over our 4-year term and we hope that a new Community Council will be formed over the coming months to continue to serve our local community and represent your views.

This website will remain open in the interim but there will be no responses or action taken until a new Community Council is formed. Should you have any matters which you would like to raise, please contact Falkirk Council in the first instance.

Many thanks once again and very best wishes for the festive season and 2018.

Kind regards
Larbert, Stenhousemuir and Torwood Community Council.

Community Council Election update – deadline for nominations extended

We have also pulled together an additional quick fact sheet on what is involved in the Community Council for anyone who may be interested in finding out more: http://lstcommunitycouncil.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Addition-Information-on-the-Community-Council.pdf

We hope that there will be sufficient interest and nominations to ensure that there continues to be a Community Council to represent the views of local residents within the Larbert, Stenhousemuir & Torwood area.
