Local Planning Policy

The Falkirk Local Development Plan (LDP) is the statutory document which guides future development in the Falkirk Council area for the period 2014-2034. It was adopted on 16 July 2015. The LDP contains a vision for the area, an overall strategy, and detailed policies and proposals indicating where development should, or should not take place. It provides criteria which Falkirk Council uses in assessing planning applications. To view the LDP, click here. In addition to the LDP itself, Falkirk Council produces Supplementary Guidance which provides further more detailed guidance on certain policies in the LDP. Falkirk Council is starting work on a review of the plan. For more details, click on: Local Development Plan 2.

Planning Applications

The Community Council receives a weekly list of all planning applications submitted to Falkirk Council. We discuss these at our monthly meeting. Planning applications are listed below with links to further information. Falkirk Council operates an online planning application system. You can view current and historic planning applications on their site. This site allows you to undertake simple searches for applications by using the planning application reference, postcode, keyword or first line of the address. You can also comment on or object to planning applications on the online planning application site. You can also search and register for information on public information notices including planning applications and roads information on the Tell Me Scotland website.
