River Carron Path Network Update

We received a quick update today from the Central Scotland Green Network on the path works currently underway between Dorrator Bridge and Carronvale Road. They advised that the works are progressing well and the contractors will now begin work on the junction between the Lade Path and the bridge over the Lade at the foot of Carronvale Road. This means that the diversions shown in blue on the poster (link below) will be in place as of Monday 23rd February for a period of 3 weeks.

Larbert to Dorrator Link Path Upgrade

Central Scotland Green Network Trust (CSGNT) has advised that work will begin on 16 January 2015 to upgrade the track that links the new Dorrator bridge over the River Carron with the Lade path to a sealed surface. Full details are on the map of the location.

Funding for the project has been secured from Sustrans, Falkirk Environment Trust, Central Scotland Green Network Development Fund & Falkirk Council.

The works will be completed by the end of March 2015, and it is likely that temporary path diversions will be necessary while the upgrade work is underway. To view the diversions, please click here: Poster – Diversions

CSGNT has been working with Falkirk Council, Communities Along the Carron Association (CATCA) and Larbert & Stenhousemuir Environmental Response Group (LASER) to identify and deliver a range of access and environmental improvements along the River Carron and the surrounding area. As part of this work, a 6-mile long path network connecting Larbert, Stenhousemuir, Camelon, Mungal and Bainsford is being developed. These works include the replacement of the old Swing Bridge and the new path link through the Camelon playing fields which were delivered in 2014.
